Austin is Sales Geek’s next build. Bring 15+ years of sales leadership and make it yours, in one of the fastest-growing metros in the country.

What is a Sales Geek?

Sales Geeks are experienced sales leaders who deliver fractional sales leadership to small and medium-sized businesses. They coach, consult, and train local businesses using Sales Geek’s proven tools, as well as build their own businesses while being part of a thriving global community, representing a brand that’s changing the way the world perceives sales.

Where do Sales Geeks come from?

Almost every Geek spent fifteen to thirty plus years leading real sales teams, not consulting from the sidelines. Jay Light has led sales teams across Dell Technologies and served as SVP of Sales/CRO for a fast-growing 3D printing company; Brian Ewing led teams at Black and Decker and Otterbox; Karl Elken rose from 500 cold calls a day to leading multinational sales organizations. What they didn’t have was a way to do it for themselves.

Why do Executives make the move to Sales Geek?

Tenure for senior sales leaders has shrunk to 18 to 24 months, and even top performers get caught in the churn. Sales Geek is the way off that loop: you keep the independence, the financial upside, and the impact, without starting from scratch or doing it alone

Why We’re Passionate About What We Do

At Sales Geek, we believe sales is more than a profession.

It’s a life skill.

Every day, we help business owners grow, leaders develop, and teams achieve more than they thought possible.

We’re passionate about changing the way the world perceives sales—from a function that simply generates revenue to a profession that creates opportunity, builds confidence, and helps businesses thrive.

That’s why we do what we do.

That’s why we’ve built a community of leaders who are committed to helping businesses grow while developing the people around them.

Sales is a Team Sport

One of the biggest surprises for many Sales Geeks isn’t the business model.
It’s the community.

Many successful sales leaders spend years working inside organizations, collaborating with talented people, sharing ideas, solving problems, and helping teams succeed. When they begin exploring what’s next, one concern often surfaces:

“Will I be doing this alone?”

At Sales Geek, the answer is no.

Our belief is simple:

Sales is a team sport.

While every Geek is building their own business, nobody builds it alone.

You’ll be surrounded by experienced sales leaders who understand the challenges, opportunities, and realities of helping businesses grow. Ideas are shared. Wins are celebrated. Challenges are discussed openly. Whether it’s a question about a client, a sales strategy, or simply needing another perspective, there is always someone willing to help.

The result is something many leaders didn’t expect to find:

A community of peers committed to helping each other succeed.

The early adopters already proved it.

Jay Light, along with a growing number of Geeks around the globe, made the jump first. Jay’s version happened right here in Texas, in Austin.

Jay Light

Jay Light  – Austin Texas
Jay launched his Sales Geek Austin franchise in early 2024 with a simple goal: to build something meaningful, make a real impact and be part of a larger community doing the same.

Since then, he’s grown it into one of the top-performing franchises in the network, with multiple long-term client partnerships. But if you ask him about the journey, he’ll be the first to tell you it wasn’t smooth or easy. Transitioning from running sales teams to actually owning the business required a completely different mindset and skill set.

That learning curve is exactly why Jay stays actively involved with other Sales Geeks—sharing what’s worked, what hasn’t, and helping others get off the ground faster than he did.

Today, he works with a diverse group of clients, delivering 14–18 days per month, and takes pride in knowing the impact is real—measured in tangible growth for the people and businesses he partners with.

What If One Conversation Changed Everything?

Most Sales Geeks didn’t wake up one morning knowing exactly what they wanted to do next.

They started with a conversation.

A conversation about career, purpose, family, impact, and what the next chapter could look like.

Fifteen minutes won’t change your life.

But it might change how you think about what’s possible.
